A while ago I had the task and fortune of removing a 150 year old damaged wooden floor from a friend’s house… and I got to keep the wood! 😊
Most of the upstairs in my house had been renovated in the 1980s with concrete floors and new doors which aren’t really my cup of tea.
Focusing on one bedroom and the corridor, I decided to put down the old floor and restyle the area. I can’t afford to buy new wooden doors so I’ll fix up the ones I have using wood and antique handles.
I built a fake fireplace (I know!😁) to add some proportion and detail, used antique crystals on a second hand chandelier, and basically furnished the whole thing using furniture and fittings from junk shops.
There’s still a long way to go, but it’s starting to take shape. It was a lot more work than I’d imagined 😩😱😁
